This morning I completed my first 750 Words Monthly Challenge. For 30 days straight, I kept the same morning routine:
1. Wake up.
2. Put the kettle on. Feed the cats. Drink water. Pour myself a tea.
3. Log in to this website and write (at least) 750 Words.
24, 463 words later and I’m addicted, of course. It takes 30 days (or is it 21 days?) to create a habit, right?
Want to sign up for the next monthly challenge?

I’m going to sign up, although I know October is going to be filled with many obstacles to my morning routine. I’ll only be home for 12 days this month, but if I can get internet on the road, I should be able to keep up.

Love it! Glad to see you weren’t thrown off by the site’s grogginess this morning =).
What do you think you dig most about the site? For me, it’s the silly little green boxes with an ‘x’ marked in them. I love the accountability of keeping track. When I first started, I loved the badges, but since you only get them once, I’ll have to wait until they come up with new badges.
BTW, I love the quote “Habits are first cobwebs, then cables.” Awesome, I’m going to use that in one of my Thrivin’ Tuesdays circles.
I love all the accountability, too. And I’m a sucker for pie charts.
I don’t know whether it’s inspiration or feeling guilty (I’m great at that) but your determination has convinced me to sign up for November. Now I guess I have to figure out how to count words and type at the same time.
Old morning ritual: Wake up
New morning ritual: Wake up, write something
Congrats on the album, look forward to seeing/hearing you w/ Joanne later this month.

Inspiration = the carrot
Guilt = the stick
ah, the twin forces of motivation.
Can’t wait to see your photos from Joanne’s session!
