gift
A few months ago, I stole some VHS tapes of old home movies from my parents. These tapes hadn’t been viewed (by anyone) in many, many years. I wasn’t even sure what was on them, my only indication being the labels that read “1988” and ” Florida 88/Father’s Day at Dzadiu’s.”
After digitizing the videos, I then spent hours and hours watching them, planning out how to edit them into something entertaining.
Eventually, I edited 3 hours of material down to 30 minutes, put it to music, and gave it to my parents last night for Christmas.
In 2010, I’d like to get my hands on all of our home videos, and get everything digitized and edited. VHS won’t last forever!
Merry Christmas!!!
(This post is part of Gwen Bell’s Best of 2009 Blog Challenge. Today’s prompt is “Gift. What’s a gift you gave yourself this year that has kept on giving?” I guess I did a variation on the prompt.)

This is great… what a fantastic gift!
What a great gift! I’m sure something so thoughtful and personal will be cherished long after anything else that was under the tree is gone. Happy New Year.
What an awesome gift! I bet your parents were over the moon.
Man – that’s amazing. I’m really *proud* of you for that… sorry if that’s gross. xo
