I’ve started blogging this week, although I haven’t really told anyone about this site yet. I’m planning to let everyone know about it, officially, on September 1st, 2009. Just trying to get my feet wet and figure out how I’d like to do things here.
I’m going to be posting something every Tuesday and Friday. Tuesday’s posts might include mp3′s, videos, photos or writing focused on a single topic. On Fridays I’ll post something in this style – more of a recap of my week with some random stuff. My plan is to keep up this blogging schedule for the next 6 months. After that, we’ll see.
My first two posts tell a bit of back-story:
Glow House #3 tells the story behind a tune I wrote in homage to the art installation of the same name that I lived inside for two weeks.
Who Is Hammy? will (barely) explain the cover of my first album, Hammy’s Secret Life
Interesting things from this week
I recorded some lap steel on a couple tracks by the amazingly talented and prolific songwriter/musician, Paul Linklater. A new album is in the works. Our next show is at The Tranzac Club on September 1st, where we’ll be opening for Great Aunt Ida.
Upcoming shows
I’m pretty excited to play at the Ottawa Folk Festival with Amy Millan next Friday, August 21st. We recorded a new album (to be released on Sept 8, 2009), and we’re about to start touring this fall.
Thanks for reading this and hanging out on this site.
