Party.
What social gathering rocked your socks off in 2010? Describe the people, music, food, drink, clothes, shenanigans.
Hands down, the best party of the year is always Fake New Year’s, hosted by our friend Carolyn Taylor. See, instead of having a party on New Year’s Eve, like everyone else, we celebrate on December 30th. No one has a party to go to on December 30th!
So yes, technically the last Fake New Year’s took place in 2009…but just on the cusp!
First, a potluck dinner.
Then a post-dinner dance party where I get to do some DJ-ing.
And because this is “fake” New Year, anyone can do the countdown at any time. I think there were about 17 countdowns last year.
Coco and Ali tease each other relentlessly…

Oh my gosh, Fake New Year’s looks like the best New Year’s ever!
Party looks like a blast and your DJ kit… really? That is just… damn. But mostly, those pictures are spectacular. The 2nd one is stunning in terms of the composition and DoF… mind if I geek out and ask about the camera/lense/etc used? :S

Yeah, I was thinking that my favourite party of the year happened LAST year on Dec. 30th in 2009
I’m hoping then that my favourite party this year is coming up on Dec. 30th?? We’ll have to investigate that. Also, Tania took amazing candid black and white pics of people. Dawn and I got tons of compliments on the one of us. And Coco and Christine DJing all night. It was really great. thanks for the very excellent footage, Ms. Bougie.
