Pride Run (5k)
I finished just under 32 minutes. My personal best by 6 minutes!
I started the race beside Deb Pearce, and we weaved in and out of each other’s path throughout.
We connected again at the end to find out that we both ran our personal bests…both by 6 minutes…both came in under 32 minutes!
We ran an identical race!
Look at how happy we are about it…
Here’s the playlist that got me through the run…
“Solsbury Hill” – Peter Gabriel
“Around and Around” – Josh Van Tassel
“Drive Like I Have Never” – Ry Cooder
“Waiting For Some Girl” – Ry Cooder
“Outstanding” – The Gap Band
“This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody)” – Talking Heads
“Make Believe Mambo” – David Byrne
Chaka – Live!
Although it was not technically a Pride event, the highlight of my day was watching Chaka Khan perform at Dundas Square. OK, Dundas Square is the worst venue ever, but I had to worm my way through the crowd and see her in the flesh. I love Chaka Khan, and she did not disappoint.
Found some video of it today…
surprise!
On the way down to see Chaka, we stopped in to HMV for a few minutes and were treated to a performance by the Xylofolks. Turns out my friend Michael Herring is the pink monkey…
today…
Today I’m on my way to Ottawa for a gig with Roxanne Potvin. This means Dafydd and I won’t be at The Tranzac tonight. We’ll be back next week, though. You can always check the shows page on this site to see if we’re playing.
