I’ve been meaning to get Josh Van Tassel to remix some of the tunes from This Is Awesome for a while now.  Not to remix because there is anything lacking in Dean Drouillard’s mixes, though.  Dean’s mixes are brilliant, and although the album is presented as a duo project of mine and Dafydd’s, it’s actually more of a trio.  Dean is our third.

Josh’s remix is a complete creative detour.  We love it.

Here’s what Josh has to say about the process:

“…In this case I did a lot of cutting of some sections, and moving some things around to get it into a shape I thought may work. Not saying it’s better then the original by any means, just a different take on things, an alternate reality. Christine and Dafydd’s music lends itself really well to remixing because of the amount of space they leave, very thoughtful music. Then I come bulldozing in with a reverb/ambiance/percussion hose and get it all dirty.”
