I’m going to be on tour with Amy Millan for the next 25 days, so you can expect the next 8 or 9 blog posts to be sort of tour diary style.  I’ll save the single topic posts for Tuesdays, and these “update” type of posts for Fridays.

Toronto

We started off the tour at home in Toronto, playing to a very nice crowd at the Mod Club which included some of my good friends.

Detroit

The next morning we drove to Detroit for a radio thing, and then to a show at the Pike Room… where people are still allowed to smoke in the bar! Can you believe it?  It’s gross.  And I just washed my jeans before I left.  Arrrgh!  Luckily this hotel has laundry.   Another thing this hotel has is a fitness room.  Yay!  I made my touring resolution back in September to run every day on tour.  So far so good.  Amy is going to join me for some running, but not this morning because she got a bit injured last night while loading the van.  Nothing serious, but she’s going to need some extra rest today.  And ice for the swelling.

When crossing the border, look for the line of cars with the most plates of the state you’re entering.  That’ll be the fast lane.
