Travel, 2010

Today’s Reverb10 prompt is from Tara Hunt:

How did you travel in 2010? How and/or where would you like to travel next year?

Some of the touring was hard on my brain this year. The re-entry home and then back out again is a tricky thing. I struggled with it near the end of the longest stretch.

By far the best trip this year was to Nashville for the wedding of my friends Gretchen and Barry.  It was the first time that Ali and I went somewhere neither of us had been before. We need to do that more often.

A list of places I visited in 2010. In chronological order:

  • Bayfield, ON
  • Guelph, ON
  • Ottawa, ON
  • New York, NY – 3 days off. A birthday weekend.
  • Montreal, QC
  • Wakefield, QC
  • Picton, ON
  • Hamilton, ON
  • McDonald’s Corners, ON
  • Kingston, ON
  • Dunedin, ON
  • Oakville, ON
  • St. Catharines, ON – family visit.
  • Hamilton, ON (again)
  • Ottawa, ON (again)
  • Perth, ON
  • Cleveland, OH
  • Ottawa, ON (yet again)
  • Diamond Lake, ON – cottage!
  • Creemore, ON
  • St. Catharines, ON (another family visit)
  • Hull, QC
  • Albany, NY
  • Salisbury, NY
  • Nashville, TN – best trip of the year.
  • Ottawa, ON (apparently I play a lot in Ottawa!)
  • Kingston, ON
  • Montreal, QC (again)
  • Quebec City, QC
  • Halifax, NS
  • Fredericton, NB
  • Saint John, NB
  • Sackville, NB
  • Summerside, PEI
  • Vancouver, BC
  • Brakendale, BC
  • Victoria, BC
  • Courtney, BC
  • Gailiano, BC
  • Moncton, NB
  • Charlottetown, NS
  • Summerside, PEI (back at the same venue)
  • Montreal, QC (last visit in 2010)
  • Perth (last out of town gig in 2010!)

In 2011 I want to go on a real vacation with Ali. For more than 3 days. Maybe Europe.
